Acceptable use policy

This policy applies to everyone using the OpenGray API. Because we route requests to third-party model providers, their policies apply to your traffic as well as ours. Breaching this policy may result in immediate suspension.

1. Prohibited content and conduct

  • Generating child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors.
  • Content that incites violence, terrorism or genocide, or that harasses or threatens a person.
  • Instructions for producing weapons, explosives, or biological, chemical, radiological or nuclear agents.
  • Malware, exploit development against systems you do not own, phishing kits or credential stuffing tooling.
  • Fraud, including fake reviews, impersonation, forged documents and deceptive political campaigning.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery, deepfakes of real people, or voice cloning without consent.
  • Automated decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance or legal status without human review.
  • Unlicensed professional advice presented as coming from a qualified doctor, lawyer or financial adviser.

2. Platform integrity

  • Do not attempt to bypass metering, balance checks or key limits.
  • Do not share, publish or sell API keys.
  • Do not create multiple accounts to evade suspension or to claim promotional credits repeatedly.
  • Do not probe, scan or load-test our infrastructure without written permission.
  • Do not scrape the upstream providers' models for the purpose of training a competing model where their terms forbid it.

3. Disclosure obligations

If your product presents model output to end users, make it clear that responses are generated by an AI system. Do not claim that output was written by a human, and do not use the service to imitate a specific real individual in a misleading way.

4. Reporting abuse

Report suspected abuse to contact@open-gray.com with as much detail as you can share. We investigate every report and respond to the reporter where a response is appropriate.

5. Enforcement

Depending on severity we may issue a warning, throttle an account, revoke keys, or suspend access permanently. Where the law requires it we will report activity to the relevant authorities. Suspensions for abuse are not eligible for refunds.

6. Appeals

If you believe enforcement was applied in error, reply to the suspension notice or write to contact@open-gray.com. A human reviews every appeal, normally within two business days.
